She was born in Ganado, Texas, on May 5, 1974, to Charles Swain and Kathy Nickels Swain.

Michelle graduated from Edna High School in 1992. Michelle was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dear friend who will be missed dearly. Along with the love she had for her family she also loved her horses, fishing and just being outdoors.

Michelle is survived by her parents Charles and Kathy Swain, her loving husband of 31 years, Mike Goranson; daughter Lacey Szela, husband Stuart, their children Peter Joe Szela and Brayleighn Navy Szela, son Dustin Goranson wife Shelbie, daughter Tiffany Goranson; brother Kevin Swain, wife Jennifer; nephew Logan Swain and niece Maggie Swain. A Celebration of Life will be held for Michelle on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11a.m. in the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Edna.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna.
