Betty Sue (Bergstrom) Shaw
Betty Sue Shaw, 72, lost her fight with Parkinson’s Disease on November 19th, 2024, while surrounded by family. Betty Sue was born August 7th, 1952, in Victoria, TX to Eldred and Janice Bergstrom. She graduated from Edna High School where she met her husband, Kenny Shaw, of 49 years. They went on to have 2 sons, Kenneth Wayne Shaw Jr. in 1972 and Klinton Wade Shaw in 1979. Many remember Betty Sue for her work as the principal secretary at WCJH, a job she held and loved for 25 years. Once retired, she spent a lot of time at the bay house with her longtime girlfriends, stirring up whatever trouble they could get into. If you ever sat down to talk with her, she was quick to reminisce about the old days or brag about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was evident until her final days. Rodeo was a big part of Betty Sue and Kenny’s lives, from watching their sons rope from a young age, to hosting memorial roping’s in Klint’s honor. When not at rodeos or watching rodeo on TV, she loved having days when her yard was full of trucks with horse trailers and the working pens were full of cattle.
Betty Sue was the epitome of tough as nails. From losing a child at an early age to fighting Parkinson’s disease for 42 years, she faced everything in life with grit and tenacity.
