Charles Van Jones, Jr.

    Charles Van Jones, Jr., of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the age of 59. He was born August 2, 1962, in Victoria, Texas to Charles Van Jones, Sr. and Emily Kappe Jones.

    Charles was a retired Schlumberger oilfield directional driller. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.

    Charles is survived by his wife of 30 years, Roseann Guerrero Jones; daughters, Shelby McNulty (Dave) and Jessica Lehr (John); sons, T.J. Martinez (Laura) and Michael Jones (Elizabeth); brother, Lee Jones (Barbara); sisters, Cecilia Kubeczka (Bo), Patricia Johnson (Bret), and Veronica Welvaert; also, Julie Quintana (Pete), Patrick Guerrero, Jr. (Laura), Larry Guerrero, Lupe Conde, and Gwen Jones; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents.

    Pallbearers will be his “Oilfield Family”, Aaron Martinez, Bobby Sims, Chris Bopp, Chris Hughes, Gabe Rodriguez, Kip Myers, Mark Downing, and Stuart Barron.

    Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. with the Funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., all in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna. Pastor Andy Schroer will be officiating.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charles’ name to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 504 Dugger St. Edna, Tx.
