Dennis Ray Zacek

     Dennis Ray Zacek, beloved husband of Monica, amazing father of Jan, Jill, and Kali, and very best Pawpaw to Julianna, Lyla, Katherine, Sawyer, Leah, and Ellie, was born on April 24, 1954 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, 9/17/2024 after a brief but debilitating physical illness.

    He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Most of all, he loved being in the peace and beauty of God's nature.  He was a farmer of 47 years and knew how to build and fix almost everything. He was hardworking and selfless -- dutifully helping at his church and doing anything and everything for his family.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Monica, his adoring children Kali (and B.J.) Ellison, Jan (and Lee) Lewis, and Jill (and Matthew) McDonald, as well as his adoring grandchildren:  Julianna Lewis, Lyla Ellison, Katherine Lewis, Sawyer Lewis, Leah Ellison, and Ellie McDonald  He is also survived by his sisters and brother: Beatrice (and Elrees) Porche, Agnes (and Wayne) Gabrysch, Genevieve Wolter, Luanne Zacek, and John (and Shana) Zacek.  

    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Zacek, his brothers, Lawrence Zacek and A.J. Zacek, and his father-in-law, Allan Witte.

    A private funeral mass was held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Inez, Texas.
