Donald E. Browning Donald E. Browning, 77, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Donald was born on October 25, 1940 in Edna to the late S.C. and Esther Browning. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nan. E. Browning of Lolita, his son and daughter -in-law, John Clinton Browning and Susan of San Marcos; daughter, Tammy Browning Deyton of Beaumont; five granddaughters, Morgan Elizabeth and her husband Alex Lundgren, Rebekah, Alexis, and Pauline; brothers, Richard Browning of Edna and John Browning of Lumberton; sister and brother-in-law Joyce Bennet and Harold of Edna; brother-in-law Jim Rector of New Braunfels; sister-in-law Bonnie Browning of Victoria; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his brothers, James Browning and Paul Browning and his precious sister-in-law. Donald served in the U.S. Army before his service as a Texas State Trooper and a locomotive engineer with Union Pacific Railroad, from which he retired after driving trains for 25 years. He resided in Jackson County the majority of his life and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Lolita and the Texas Sheriff’s Association. He was also a member of the Wharton Masonic Lodge since 1969. A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Lolita.
