Estha Fowler
Estha Fowler, 85, died peacefully in her home on January 9, 2022 in Victoria, TX. Estha Louise Olson was born on May 29, 1936 in Bay City, TX to Elmer Olson and Freddie Mae (Olson) Frieze. She grew up in Ganado, TX and graduated from Ganado High School. She then moved to Houston, TX where she lived and worked at the YWCA. She married David Fowler, her high school Sweetheart, on August 10, 1957.
Estha had a lifelong banking career in downtown Houston until she retired in 1991 from Texas Commerce Bank to take care of her Uncle, Walter Olson.
Estha was very close to her family and very generous to all of her nieces and nephews. It was important to Estha that she be everyone's favorite aunt and give them fun memorable experiences like taking them on adventurous vacations and buying them wonderful gifts. She was a thrill seeker and always wanted to have fun well into her 80's. Some of her favorite vacations included Disney World, Las Vegas and Nashville. She was proud to be remembered for riding the thrill seeking Stratosphere Tower rides in Las Vegas. Estha's hobbies included crocheting and cross stitch, antiques and adding to her treasured Disney collection.
Estha was Deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, David, her brother Thomas Russell Frieze, Jr of West Columbia and his wife Ellen, brother-in-law Lance Fowler and his wife Peggy of Ganado, her cousin Dorothy Ann Olson White of Houston who was more like a sister, several special nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her devoted dog Kim. Estha was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Olson; mother, Freddie Mae (Olson) Frieze; step-mother, Mary Olson and her brother, Freddy Elmer "Jr." Olson.
A graveside service was held at the Swedish Lutheran Cemetery in El Campo, TX on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2pm. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews, Allen Frieze, Russell Frieze, TJ Snow, Tim Snow, and Lynwood Pickens.
