Esther H. Contreras

     Esther H. Contreras, 80 years old, of Edna, TX, unexpectedly passed away peacefully with her loving Daughter and Son-in-law by her side on January 23, 2023.

      She is survived by her children, Sandra Monica Bernal and Guadalupe C. Hendrickson; her Grandchildren, Ericka Jaselle Steele, Michael Joseph Garcia, and David Wayne Armstong; her Sister, Lilia P. Nevarez; Brothers, Juan Hernandez and Alfredo Hernandez, and her Niece, Magdalena Shadden.

      She was predeceased in death by her husband, Jose R. Contreras, partner Terrance F. Curry, her parents, Esperanza and Gregorio Hernandez, and sister, Margarita Rodriguez and Brother Enrique Hernandez.

      Esther was born on December 21, 1942, to Esperanza Palacios Hernandez and Gregorio Hernandez in El Paso, TX. She was a dedicated Mother and Grandmother, first and foremost. She treasured and embraced every moment with each of her children and grandchildren. She especially loved her role as Nana. Esther made friends wherever she went, making each person feel loved and appreciated. She had a heart of gold, was never selfish, and was always kind.

     A Rosary will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2 pm at 506 N Allen St, Edna, TX 77957.
