Jonathan Abernathy

Jonathan Abernathy, age 40, passed away on January 1, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Abernathy; two daughters, Ambyr Valentine (Aaron), Raryn Marconi; and two sons, Dylon Jamison and Kyle Van Compernolle, along with his mother, Jaqueline Waldron and brother Trey Short (Jennifer). Jonathan also had four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Waldron.

Jonathan was a U.S. Navy Submariner veteran, a member of the Francitas Volunteer Fire Department. Jon loved his Georgia Bulldogs, being surrounded with great friends and family while listening to music. He loved his animals and being outdoors.

He will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at the VFW Post 4403 in Port Lavaca on January 23, at 1 p.m. Donations in his name can be sent to the VFW Post 4403.
