Larry Chester Hicks
Larry Chester Hicks, of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 1, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born in El Campo, Texas on November 27, 1941, to the late Herschel Chester Hicks and Clara Anderson Hicks.
Larry was a farmer and cattle rancher. He enjoyed riding out to the farm to check on his cows. Larry loved to drink coffee with his friends, play poker, and take his daily afternoon naps. He enjoyed spending time with his two boys, Todd, and Ray. Larry’s love for his boys and grandchildren was evident in all he did. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Larry is survived by his sons, Ray Hicks (Tammy) and Todd Hicks both of Edna, Texas; two grandchildren, Scarlett Hicks-Williams (Jason) and Hunter Hicks; great-granddaughter, Myka Hicks; and his sister, Karen Hicks of Victoria, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Clara Hicks.
Pallbearers are Hunter Hicks, Jason Williams, Timmy Shefcik, John Jarratt, Duane Muncrief, and Bobby Doelitsch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. all in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Private family burial will follow. Pastor Andy Schroer will officiate. A reception will be held at 12 p.m. at First United Methodist Fellowship Hall in Edna, Texas.
