Lawrence Aubrey “L.A.” Parks

     Lawrence Aubrey “L.A.” Parks, Jr. of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 94. He was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on April 7, 1930, to the late Lawrence Aubrey Parks, Sr., and Viola Power Parks.

     L.A. lived in Edna most of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War. He was a volunteer fireman for about 35 years and served as Fire Chief for about 15 years. He was President and Master Electrician for Parks Electric Service, Inc. since 1951.

     L.A. is survived by his daughter, Linda Parks Budd (Ricky); his grandchildren, Heather Parks Linzy (Chris), Ryan Parks, Jennifer Parks Anderson (Jona), Jonathan Parks (Heather), Russell Fowler, Eric Budd (Brit), Erin Budd, Koby Parks and Konnor Parks.  

     Great grandchildren, Aubrey and Clare Linzy, Cadyn and Asher Anderson, Wesley, Emma and Madelynn Parks, and Lucy Budd.

     He is also survived by daughter in law Suzanne Parks and step grandchildren Danny, Ryan, and Nina Rivera.

     L.A. is survived by his stepchildren, Gloria Maxwell, Sherrie Bergstrom, Charlotte McClain (Gary), Debbie Lopez (Mike), and Lee Putnam (Lori).

     He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Viola Parks; wife, Virginia Loudermilk Parks; sister, Eloise Parks Pantalone; wife, Rose Etta Holmes Parks; son, Larry Parks and son, Kevin Parks.

     Pallbearers were L.A.’s grandsons: Ryan Parks, Russell Fowler, Eric Budd, Jonathan Parks, Koby Parks and Konnor Parks. 

      Honorary pallbearers were JP Strickland, Roy Ortolon, Charles Reckaway, David Storz, Jennifer Storz, Josef Storz, FUMC Congregation, the Loudermilk Family, the Pantalone Family, the Putnam Family, and L.A.’s granddaughters: Heather Linzy, Jennifer Anderson, and Erin Budd. 

     Services were held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Edna, Texas. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services began at 11 a.m. Interment followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna, Texas. Pastor Jacob Hunter officiated
