Linda Gail Slaton

    Linda Gail Holmes Slaton, 71 of Edna went to fly with the angels on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

    Linda was born in Bogalusa, LA on April 30, 1949 to Melvin Holmes and Katie Fidele.

    Linda is survived by her loving family, husband John, daughter Regina Matlock (Sam), her eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step-children; Johnette and Lance, her three brothers; Keith, Melvin, Jr. and Greg, several nieces and nephews.

    She has been preceded in death by her parents, sister; Betty Rush, and her son; Roland “Kelly” Varnado, II.

    There was a private family burial on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Olivia Cemetery.

    The family will have a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.

    Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Slavik Funeral Home, 361-782-2152.
