Maria Del Carmen Olivares, 74, of Edna passed away on April 4, 2018. She was born on Oct. 3, 1943 in Matamoros, Mexico to David Suarez Longoria and Maria Guadalupe Suarez Ledezma. Maria is survived by her husband Alejo Olivares, Sr.; daughters, Maria de los Angeles, and Melissa; sons Jose Luis, Alejo, Jr. and Armando; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters, Luisa, Lydia, Martina, Guadalupe and Pilar; and brothers Benito and David, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents. There will be a Family Celebration of Life Service in Mexico at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Slavik Funeral Home, 361-782-2152.
