Mary Hernandez Verver

    Mary Hernandez Verver, of Edna, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the age of 78. She was born in Edna, Texas, on January 9, 1940, to the late Ignacio Hernandez and Manuela Bentancur Hernandez.     Mary was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, she was also known as the baby whisper to her family.       Mary is survived by her daughter, JoAnne Verver Blanton her husband Tony of Edna; sons, Fermin Verver his wife Susie of Victoria, Frank Verver, Jr. of Edna; brother, Antonio Hernandez his wife Yolanda of Goliad; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.     In addition to her parents Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Dovalina Verver; daughters, Glenda Verver and Mary Jane Benavidez; sisters, Lupe Hernandez and Marcello Soto; brothers, Modesto G. Hernandez, Domingo Gonzales Facundo Hernandez, Jose Maria Hernandez, and Fernando Gonzales.     Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 5-7 P.M., with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 P.M., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 22, 2018, in the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Edna. Burial will follow in Edna Latin American Cemetery. Father Gabriel Espinosa will be officiating.     Pallbearers will be Arnold Garza, Jr., Alexander Garza, Fermin Verver, Jr., Francisco Verver, and Jesse Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers are remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.     Memorials may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, 506 N.
