Michael James McCarrell, Sr.

     Michael James McCarrell, Sr., of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 67. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 15, 1956, to the late Roland Edwin McCarrell and Doris Lee West McCarrell.

     Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

     Michael is survived by his friend and partner Liz Gobert; sons Michael McCarrell Jr, Jamie McCarrell (Kristin), Jason McCarrell (Stephanie), Justin McCarrell, and Jerod McCarrell (Isabelle); daughters Christy Arendell (Adam) and Michele McCarrell; grandchildren Taylor, Kristyn, Tanner, Gloryannah, Cassidy, Meagan, Tori, Jake, Lincoln, Ivy, Peyton, Cooper,

Greyson, Bode, Mac, and Julianna Koch; great-grandchildren Karly, Tristen, Saylor, Paislee, and Peyton.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet Baker McCarrell; brother Roland McCarrell Jr; sister Linda Cowen; grandson Cody Ryno.

     Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 5:30 p.m., on Friday, September 29, 2023, all in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Jamie McCarrell will be officiating.
