Paula Christene Edging
Paula Christene Edging, of Lolita, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 10, 1951, to the late James Phillips and Pearl Robbins Phillips.
Paula served as Interim Dean of the College of Natural and Applied Science, then Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College of Natural and Applied Science at the University of Houston of Victoria. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed.
Paula is survived by her daughter, Caren Symonds (Michael); daughter-in-law, Sarah Edging; sisters, Venita Martel and Betty Keef; and her 12 grandchildren (Corina, James, Jacob, Joshua, Tristan, KaLynne, Michael, Joseph, Lucan, Eowyn, Valiant and Fion), and 3 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Pearl “Louise” Phillips, and her son, Michael Edging.
Pallbearers are James Symonds, Joshua Symonds, Michael Symonds, Joseph Symonds, and Tristan Garrett.
Jr. Pallbearers are Lucan Edging and Valiant Edging.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Funeral services weill be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Lolita, Texas. Interment will follow in Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita. Pastors Randy Samuels and Gary Thedford will be officiated.
