Raphael Leon Plant, Jr.
Raphael Leon Plant, Jr., of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the age of 79. He was born to the late Raphael Leon Plant and Mercedes Plant on February 18, 1943, in El Campo, Texas.
“Leon” is proceeded in death by his parents, his beautiful wife of 58 years, Martha Plant; his son, Gary Plant; granddaughter, Candise Plant; his brother, Walley Plant; and his sister, Faye Gibson.
Leon is survived by his son, Danny Plant and wife Gina of Edna; his daughter, Tammy Plant and partner, Jared Queen; his sisters, Martha Johnson of El Campo and Joyce Sykora of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, Justin and Monica Plant of Victoria, Jessica and Josh Blaine of Miami, AZ, Misty and Brice Sunderland of Miami, AZ, Sheryle and Rex Moore of Edna, Regina Meeks of New Mexico, Robert Meeks of Laredo, and David and Tejada Adry of Gonzales.; grandchildren, Justin and Monica Plant of Victoria, Jessica and Josh Blaine of Miami, AZ, Misty and Brice Sunderland of Miami, AZ, Sheryle and Rex Moore of Edna, Regina Meeks of New Mexico, Robert Meeks of Laredo, and David and Tejada Adry of Gonzales. Leon also had 15 great grandchildren that he loved so much.
Leon loved to hunt and fish, specifically floundering. He loved his 2 dogs like they were his own children and always missed them when they were apart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 23, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at J’s Patio, 116 E. 1st St., El Campo, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Leon’s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
