Vaughn Williams
Vaughn E. Williams, of Edna, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the age of 87. He was born on Dec. 6, 1930, in Hallettsville, to the late William Elry Williams and Algeria Thigpen Williams. Vaughn was the owner of Williams’ Lee Drug in Edna for almost 40 years. He continued practicing pharmacy celebrating 50 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly. He is survived by his daughter, Kay Williams Peters and her husband Glenn; son, Richard (Rickey) Williams; grandchildren, Jacob Peters and his fiancée Kelly Hayes, Maegan Peters DeVolld and her husband William; great-granddaughter, Sophia DeVolld; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Vaughn is preceded in death by his loving wife Nellie Mae Tolbert Williams; and sister, Joyce Sanchez. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 30, in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kelli Williamson will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Bonnot, Jim Brown, Tommy Brown, Dennis Cox, Clay Tolbert, and Tim Tolbert. Honorary Pallbearers are Weldon Bonnot and Dr. Charles Hood.
