Cowgirls struggling to stay on top

Trailing Tidehaven 9-5 going into their final at-bat, the Edna Cowgirls closed the gap by the end of the game, but still lost 9-8.
The Cowgirls grabbed a first inning lead when Raney Orsak walked, then stole second. She followed up stealing third, and when the throw got away from the third baseman, she ran home with the first run of the game. In the second inning, the Cowgirls loaded the bases but were unable to push any more runs across.
Going to the third inning, Tidehaven had only had one runner reach base, by a walk, but they sent ten batters to the plate in the third and scored five runs. The inning could’ve been much worse as the Tigers had runners on second and third with only one out, but Cowgirl pitcher Elizabeth Alex was able to shut them down.
