Natasha Evans concluded her last season of volleyball this year at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and reached a special goal as a captain of the Crusaders: she was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Honorable Mention All-American list.
The senior was a 2013 graduate of Edna High School, and is the daughter of Norma and Horace Evans.
“These years have truly paid off, my family has always been a tremendous support of me and my sister and what we’ve done, my mom and dad, they’ve driven us everywhere,” Natasha said. “Getting to that level is a lot of working out on my own and in the offseason. It’s a difficult road, but worth it.”
During her last game the team and coaches celebrated her achievements, and it was an especially emotional game for sophomore Haleigh, her little sister. “There was more emotion and feeling in this last game compared to high school because I know now I’ll never get the chance to play with her again,” Haleigh said. “I was a little bit of an emotional wreck.”
