Ganado Major girls return to State

    Last year, the Ganado Little League Majors Softball team became the first girls team from Ganado to ever advance to the State tournament. This year, they made it back after they defeated Cuero 11-1 in the Sectional Finals on Sunday.

    “The girls have played phenomenally,” head coach Heath Bures said. “We defeated Brazos 8-0 but we 10-run-ruled everyone else. Through the District and Sectional tournaments, our girls only gave up three runs, and only two of them were earned. They have exceeded my expectations. Six of the 10 girls from last year are back, so we had the core of the team come back and they have been great leaders.”
