Ganado's Amazing Playoff Run Ends With State Championship Game Loss

Ganado's amazing run through the Little League Majors Softball playoffs came to an end on Monday night with a 6-1 loss to Columbus in the Texas East State Championship Game. Despite the loss, Ganado finished the year as one of the four best teams in Texas, and the fact that they came from a town that is far smaller than the other three makes their accomplishment even more impressive.

Everybody make sure to pick up a Jackson County Herald Tribune on Wednesday. (Or Tuesday afternoon, around 2 p.m., if you want to stop by the newspaper office.) Although we won't have the results of the final game printed (we went to press before the game was played), we do have a congrats section dedicated to the girls run through the playoffs, along with a recap of the games played in the Sectionals and State tournament, along with quotes from the girls.

The sports section also contains All State and Academic All State Baseball and Softball players from all of the Jackson County teams.
