Lavaca River Shutout

With playoff spots already clinched, Edna and Industrial met in the Lavaca River Showdown for bragging right, but each team needed a win to position themselves better before the playoffs got started.
The Cowboys, doing what they do, used a tough run game to control the clock and methodically added points until they walked away with a 41-0 victory. The Edna win, coupled with Goliad defeating Yoakum by three points, earned the Cowboys the district crown. The loss dropped Industrial to fourth.
The Cowboys opened the game driving the ball right through the Industrial defense. After a first and goal from the Cobra seven, the ball was fumbled and Industrial recovered but could do nothing with it and were forced to punt from their own end zone.
The Cowboys took over on the Cobra 31 and on the first play Dayton McCoy burst through the line and scored. The extra point was no good but the Cowboys were off and running with a 6-0 lead.
The Cobras next drive ended when Logan Carroll pulled in an interception. After two offensive drives the Cobras had minus four yards offense.
