Pitching is the key

In only four games the Ganado Major All-Star girls have outscored other teams 43-1, head coach Heath Bures said, and the one run was un- earned. Six of the 10 girls on the current team played in the State tournament last year and won second place.

“To be honest, it’s our pitch- ing from Macy Kolacny, few balls have even been put into play, I think she’s given up only three hits,” Bures said. “Taylor Ortiz made a great play, but Macy has been pitch- ing since she was seven years old and you can see she’s a very dedicated pitcher who works tremendously hard. All our girls do.”

The team won District Champions last week and Sec- tionals begin on July 5, but fortunately, the girls don’t have to travel far. This year Ganado is hosting Sectionals.
